Vikram Misri Holds Key Talks With French FM, Discusses West Asia Conflict, Bilateral Ties

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris, focusing on bilateral cooperation and key global developments, including tensions in West Asia. The meeting took place amid heightened concerns following stalled US-Iran talks and the announcement by Donald Trump of a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. During his visit, Misri also co-chaired the India–France Foreign Office Consultations with Martin Briens, where both sides reviewed cooperation in defence, civil nuclear energy, space, cyber, AI, and cultural ties. The visit underscores continued high-level engagement between India and France amid evolving global and regional challenges.
