Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking in the Lok Sabha on the fight against Naxalism, questioned “Urban Naxals” who advocate dialogue with armed Maoists. He said that after reviewing nearly 2,000 articles over six days, he found a common theme urging sympathy for Maoists and calling for talks. Shah criticized this approach, stating that such voices show concern only for those carrying weapons while ignoring ordinary citizens being killed. He argued that extending sympathy to armed groups undermines the Constitution and fails to acknowledge the suffering caused by Naxal violence.
