From Border Dispute to Terrorism: Vikram Misri Details Key Issues Raised in Modi-Xi Talks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought up cross-border terrorism as a key concern during his bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Modi stressed that such terrorism affects both India and China and called for mutual support in addressing the issue. Misri stated that China has shown understanding and cooperation on this matter during the ongoing SCO Summit. Border stability also featured prominently in the talks, with PM Modi emphasising the need for peace and tranquility at the Line of Actual Control. Both leaders agreed that differences must not turn into disputes. Misri noted there was broad consensus that a stable and friendly India-China relationship is essential for the well-being of their combined 2.8 billion citizens.
