Shehbaz Sharif Sworn In as New Pakistan PM Amidst Resounding 'Vote-Thief' Chants in Parliament

Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the second time, securing 201 votes. The President of PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif, clinched the 24th Prime Minister position after receiving overwhelming support. Omer Ayub Khan, the PTI candidate backed by Imran Khan, secured 92 votes. Following the announcement, Shehbaz shared a hug with his elder brother Nawaz Sharif, a three-time former PM of Pakistan. While Shehbaz spoke, PTI-backed lawmakers chanted 'thief' slogans from the opposition benches. Shehbaz expressed gratitude to the party's allies, including PPP, for their trust in making him the Leader of the House. Many PTI leaders condemned the election authorities, alleging the 'theft' of the people's mandate.
