Bulgaria FM thanks Indian Navy for rescuing crew from hijacked ship MV Ruen

Indian Navy braves successfully rescued MV Ruen, previously hijacked by pirates on December 14, 2023. The operation concluded on March 16 with the safe retrieval of all 17 crew members without any injuries. The operation was carried out by an Indian warship in Kolkata in coordination with the Indian Air Force. The coordinated efforts compelled 35 pirates to surrender during the 40-hour rescue operation. "The vessel was sanitised for the presence of illegal arms, ammunition and contraband," The Navy Spokesperson said.
