Donald Trump turns to the Supreme Court in desperate attempt to put presidential immunity ruling on hold

Former US President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to pause ruling denying him absolute immunity. The filing in Supreme Court was Trump’s last effort to press his claim of total immunity. This came after a 3-judge panel of U.S. Court of Appeals for the district of Columbia Circuit unanimously rejected his argument. Donald Trump’s lawyers argued, “Conducting a monthslong criminal trial will radically disrupt Trump’s ability to campaign against President Biden. In 234 years of American history, no president was ever prosecuted for his official acts. Without immunity from criminal prosecution, the Presidency as we know it will cease to exist”.
