PM Modi hails Indian Navy's rescue operation, ISRO's solar mission Aditya-L1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Navy's successful operation to liberate a merchant ship from pirates in the North Arabian Sea as "heroic." Speaking at the 58th conference of the DGPs and the IGPs, he also highlighted the achievements of India's inaugural solar mission craft, Aditya L1, as a testament to India's strength and the capabilities of its scientists. Providing details of the rescue operation, the Prime Minister mentioned that there were 21 sailors on board, with 15 being Indian nationals, and the ship was located approximately 2,000 km away from the Indian coast. Emphasizing the Navy's effectiveness, he noted that all sailors were safely rescued from imminent danger during the swift operation conducted by the Indian Navy's elite marine commandos on January 5. The operation followed an attempt by five to six armed pirates to hijack the Liberian-flagged vessel in the North Arabian Sea.
