Russia-Ukraine war: Biden expresses concern, says US could be drawn into direct clash with Moscow

US President Joe Biden has expressed worry that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine might lead the United States into a direct confrontation with Russia. His concerns arise in the aftermath of Russia's extensive aerial assault across Ukraine, resulting in significant civilian casualties and damage. Biden's comments came after Russia's largest aerial attack on Ukraine to date, involving around 110 missiles targeting various civilian structures, including hospitals and a shopping center. Ukrainian officials, as cited by Reuters, reported at least 31 deaths and over 120 injuries resulting from this attack. "Overnight, Russia launched its largest aerial assault on Ukraine since this war began," Biden stated. "It is a stark reminder to the world that, after nearly two years of this devastating war, Putin's objective remains unchanged. He seeks to obliterate Ukraine and subjugate its people. He must be stopped."
