Czech Justice Ministry rejects Indian jurisdiction in Gurpatwant Pannun murder plot investigation

Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national, has been held in a Prague jail since June for an alleged plot to kill Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in the US. The US seeks Gupta's extradition, with ongoing proceedings in the Czech Republic. The Czech government has now asserted that India has "no jurisdiction" in the case stating it falls under Czech authority. Gupta's family had appealed to the Supreme Court in India seeking intervention and a fair trial. The Czech justice ministry spokesperson emphasized that this case is solely under Czech jurisdiction. Gupta's family has urged Indian government's intervention for a fair trial in the extradition process. India has already constituted a probe committee to investigate allegations.
