COP28 Summit 2023: PM Modi emplanes for Delhi after attending the World Climate Action Summit

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed anticipation for meaningful dialogues and collaborations to ensure a sustainable future at the COP-28 Summit. He received a warm welcome from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. In a tweet, PM Modi stated, "Glad to join the COP-28 Summit, a pivotal platform for global climate action. Looking forward to engaging in meaningful dialogues and collaborations for a sustainable future." During a session on 'Transforming Climate Finance' at COP28, Modi emphasized the need for wealthy nations to significantly reduce their carbon footprint well before 2050. He called on the world to deliver a concrete outcome on finance to aid developing and poor nations in combating climate change. Modi highlighted India's expectation for concrete progress on the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG), a new global climate finance goal post-2025.
